Weatherization
Tehama County Community Action Agency Weatherization Works Program (W2) provides basic home weatherization services to low-income, elderly residents of Tehama County.
Services may include:
- Weather stripping
- Door shoes, thresholds
- Water heater blankets
- Basic window glazing, repair of broken windows
- Solar screens
- Vent covers
- Shower heads (low flow)
- Faucets, fixtures, leaks
- Attic insulation (requires ability to move in small spaces)
- Under floor insulation (requires ability to move in tight spaces)
- General exterior caulking
- Other minor weatherization needs
Once an application is approved a licensed contractor will make an appointment to evaluate the residence for possible services. It is at the discretion of the contractor and the Community Action Agency staff to approve or deny the application based on the initial evaluation.
If an application for services is approved for repairs the applicant will be contacted by a Crew Leader from the Job Training Center to schedule the proposed work. The client will, at that time, be given an estimate of how long it will take to complete the proposed work.
There is no cost to the applicant for any of the work performed.
Once the repairs are complete the licensed contractor will schedule a follow up appointment to certify the completed work and sign off on its completion.
